"We will hunt them down!": US accuses Sinaloa Cartel leaders of narcoterrorism

The U.S. Department of Justice held a conference where it declared a manhunt for members of the Sinaloa Cartel , accused of narcoterrorism under new mandates established by President Donald Trump.

Authorities specifically accused Pedro Inzunza Noriega , alias "Sagittarius," and his son, of trafficking fentanyl.

The U.S. will pursue the Sinaloa Cartel.

As a measure to combat the flow of fentanyl into the United States, authorities from the Attorney General's Office executed the decree against the Sinaloa Cartel and classified its criminal acts in the border area as narcoterrorism.

"If you act like a terrorist, you shouldn't be surprised if you're accused of being one ," said the prosecutor in charge.

Trump declared Mexican cartels terrorists

The United States government, led by Donald Trump, has officially classified several Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations under the Immigration and Nationality Act. The move was confirmed in a State Department document.

The designated groups include the Sinaloa Cartel, CJNG, United Cartels, the Northeast Cartel, the Gulf Cartel, the New Michoacan Family, the Aragua Train, and the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13).

This classification, which went into effect on February 20, 2025, entails financial sanctions and legal restrictions for those who collaborate with these groups. It also reinforces Trump's stance on security and drug trafficking.
